Let the fun begin!

Are you looking for an opportunity this summer to be a part of Boston’s growing startup and entrepreneur community, where you’ll be a part of fun, engaging and kick-ass events? Do you want to connect and network with emerging startups in the area, investors, business professionals and other passionate and spirited people? Yeah, I thought you would. Our Summer Internship Program is probably for you then!

Who we are

Founder+Co is Boston’s newest resource and event platform for startups and founders to start, grow, learn, connect and explore. It’s for those who seek to change the world. For the idea makers to explore their imagination. For skilled and experienced nomads to express their brilliance. For curious wanders looking for a path to greatness. Because once together, truly anything is possible.

See Founder+Co as place as a hub for greatness. A resource for Pre-Seed to Series C and beyond founders to start, grow and become. Our goal is to empower founders with the tools, resources and platform to change the world. We do this with our unique events, our upcoming resource platform and our community of passionate founders, investors and skilled and experienced talent.

More importantly though, this is a place for support and fun. Having a startup is tough. It’s one of the toughest things in the world. We want Founders to know that we’re here for them. This is a place for Founders to feel comfortable with. A place where Founders can lean on the community for help. Because the only way we can truly change the world…is together.

Right now, Founder+Co is primarily event driven, but with plans to grow into a larger resource and service platform. After only starting Founder+Co 3 months ago, we’ve grown to almost 700 active community members. Providing value to our community and the larger Boston' startup landscape is our goal. Our ambitions are high and we try to set a new standard with every event we have. Our last event on May 22nd was live streamed and hosted at WeWork for Founders to pitch their startups to investors in a Shark Tank style format. We were successful in attracting over 100 attendees, with positive reception and media coverage feedback. Our plans for this summer’s events are even bigger!

The Internship

We are looking for energetic, motivated and fun-spirited individuals who know how to get things done, to help bring our summer’s startup events to life. We are not looking for coffee fetchers. We’re looking for people that want to stand side by side with us into battle to help plan and execute kick-ass events. We can’t promise you fame or riches(but then again, who knows?), but we can promise you a summer of feeling like you’ve contributed towards something bigger than yourself, a wealth of event and community experience, a walk or two around Boston and a fresh pat on the back for your success!

The goal of this internship program is create an environment for you to get as much as you can out of this experience. We do need your help, but ultimately, this is all about making sure you learn, grow and have fun through this journey. Learn about the Founder+Co culture, bump shoulders with important people from Boston’s startup and business community and have a hell of a good time along the way. Having fun is at the core of who we are and what we do, so prepare for that :)

You will be working directly with the Founder of Founder+Co, along with their event partners, venues and sponsors.

All of our internships are unpaid and require a commitment of 10 weeks for 10-20 hours a week(depending on the event) between June and August (specific start/end dates are flexible). This will be a mix of on-site(meetings, event set up/execution, etc.) and remote work in the Boston area.

You will also be given a group intern email login for the length of the internship.

Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Must be pursuing a degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Events, Marketing or other related degree fields.

Who we’re looking for

You love what you do

We’re looking for people that love what they do and want to be the best at it. You are always looking for creative ways to do things and are constantly learning and experimenting. You are a fighter and will do anything for the achievement of your craft.

#Adulting

You don’t need a babysitter. You don’t need someone looking over your shoulder and micromanaging everything you do. Thank goodness too, because that would be a lot of work. We treat you as adults, so as long as you’re #adulting, you’ll have the freedom to work the way you like.

A curious mind

We’re looking for people that have a curiosity of things and are obsessed with learning. You want to learn new perspectives, processes and approaches to doing things. You get great enjoyment from learning new things.

You love people

It’s no mystery that having events, means you’ll be meeting a lot of new people. But you love that. You enjoy crowds and thrive off of their energy. You see the value in face to face, human connection and genuinely enjoy getting into conversation with people. You can also work great in a team.

Fun-Spirited

We’re looking for fun spirited and energetic people. You have a good sense of humor and know how to laugh and enjoy the moment. You see fun in aspects that may not appear fun. You’re always looking for ways to inject fun into everything you do, because that’s who you are.

You’re Organized

You’re good at keeping details and organizing yourself and your work. Not much else to say. You approach projects and workflow in an organized manner.

What you know

We don’t measure greatness based on your resume. We look beyond that and are more interested in who you really are. That being said though, we do need you to know a few things to get the most out of this internship:

You know the basics

You’re familiar with working on projects through email, google productivity apps like sheets, docs, etc. and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiar using google hangouts and other video conference apps is a plus.

You know Social Media

Our social media presence is kinda ehh right now. It’s tough to even admit that, but it’s true. We set it up just recently, but that’s no excuse. So we’re looking for you to help us boost our social presence. This is definitely an area we want to grow. You know and can manage Facebook and Instagram. You know enough about Linkedin. You can help us create cool content that will stand above the rest in a fun and interesting way. You can post, link, push, boost, hashtag, market and handstand your way through the social media landscape.

Event Planning / Coordination (Plus)

Experience planning and coordinating events is a big plus.

Graphic Design (Plus)

Experience with graphic design is a big plus.
